Scoring Guidelines

The goal of this document is to provide everyone with a consistent environment. Each Mayor is responsible for how he/she implements these guidelines.

To the Mayors: However you choose to do your scoring, you should be consistent. If you find that your first few runs are not what you expected, continue to score as you started for everyone else. You can note on the score sheets where and how you would like the scoring changed and, if possible, the final tally will be adjusted to reflect your comments.

Defined Areas

Before the events start, the competitors should know what there goal is. This includes instructions for completing the event and the basis for scoring.

Each Mayor is responsible for his town. The requirements are unique to the goals of the event. Some sample areas:

bulletPreparation
bulletAttitude
bulletAccomplish the task
bulletSpeed
bulletSpirit
bulletFlag
bulletYell
bulletCooperation
bulletTeamwork

Weighting

When comparing the defined areas for your event, remember that not every area need be counted the same. For example: You may decide that preparation for an event is more important than the time it takes to complete. In this case you may assign from 1 to 10 points for preparation and 1 to 6 for timing.

Event Times

Most events will be based upon a standard time set by the Mayor.  Accomplish the task as set out by the Mayor in less than the standard time and earn extra points. Where the event is timed, the elapsed time will be recorded in minutes and seconds to assist in final determination of the winner for each event.

The Last Race will be based upon time compared with everyone else. As this will not be complete until late in the afternoon.  You are encouraged to cleanup and depart early so that parking will be available for others.  The Last Race and Klondike Derby results will be announced at Round Table in February.
